Canada

Canada has a very special place in the heart of our family: it was the first country we visited with a home exchange and the experience was so successful, we periodically fantasize about relocating and making Canada our home. We haven’t visited the whole of Canada, but we were lucky enough to spend time in both Quebec and Ontario  and both areas wowed us with a great family friendly atmosphere, fantastic scenery, thriving urban culture and delicious food.

Visiting Montreal with kids: find out family friendly attractions in Montreal and tips for visiting this fascinating city with this guide based on our city trip with kids to Montreal, Canada We decided to go to Montreal following Philip’s memories from when he was a student. As it turned out, Montreal is a fantastic city to visit with children! It has a relaxed,…

How to spend 1 perfect day in Toronto with kids

What can you see and do with a day in Toronto with kids? We visited Toronto with a toddler and a 4-year-old: these are our favourite things to do in Toronto with kids, favourite family friendly hotel and Toronto with children highlight.  Until the moment it entered my window-seat field of vision, Ontario had been, for me, the stuff of dreams. I first learned its name on the Risk board, along equally evocative names such as ‘Kamchatka peninsula’ and I could hardly believe that now we were only minutes away from landing beside its shores. Toronto airport was now in sight and the waters of Lake Ontario were shining in…
