- 1 star anize
- Boiling water (enough to fill your mug)
- Optional: the juice of half a lemon, a slice of fresh ginger for extra warmth and a spring of rosemary as garnish and perfume

- A kettle or saucepan to boil water
- Jigger or shot measure if you want to be fancy. otherwise, a SMALL splash of you liquor of choice
