Passport: A valid US passport is required to travel to Europe but not required for travel to Canada. It must be valid at the time of departure from and return to the USA.
Non-US citizens will require a visa for traveling. Contact David at david@learningescapes.com for details.
Walking: For the most part, Learning Escapes tours are active tours that require a fair amount of walking. Please read the itinerary carefully to ascertain the amount of walking required. Any person who needs assistance with walking, dining, or personal needs must have an able companion on tour to assist them.
Electricity: Electrical adapters are needed if you wish to take along a hair dryer, electric razor, etc. Most hotels in Europe supply 230 volts. Check with your local electronic/radio shop or department store to purchase adapters.
Air Conditioning: Please be advised that foreign air conditioning systems in public places, ships, hotels and motor coaches are not up to USA standards.
Holidays & Changes: During local or national holidays abroad, certain facilities such as museums, sightseeing tours, and shopping may be limited. In such instances and wherever possible, slight itinerary adjustments may be made to minimize inconvenience to tour participants.
Currency and Currency Exchange: The countries we will be visiting each have foreign currencies and are subject to fluctuating US currency exchange rates. To convert US currency and for the very best exchange rate conversions, we recommend using ATM bankcard locations for cash retrieval abroad or charge purchases to your credit card. ATM bankcard locations are readily available in all major foreign cities and many hotels. In addition you may convert US currency at hotels and foreign banks. However, please note that banks and hotels usually charge an additional fee for this service.
Temperature and Climate: Average temperatures for Portugal & Spain - June: 63-85.
Special Diet restrictions: If you have any special dietary requests, i.e. vegetarian, please send this information to Carol at david@learningescapes.com.
Room Assignments: All room assignments are for equal first class accommodations. Please note that some variation in room size, location, or scenic views may occur.
Airfare Substitutions: Frequent flyer mile certificates may be used toward round-trip travel to Europe. Please notify david@learningescapes.com if you plan to use frequent flyer miles toward the round-trip airfare.
PLEASE NOTE: Should you plan to fly separately from the group please note that in order to take advantage of the airport transfers (included in the trip price) you must arrange to be at designated trip airports at the same time as the "official" group airfare arrival and departure times.
